He specializes in research into early medieval society and the use of geophysical methods in archaeological research. Within the project, he focuses primarily on research into settlement structures and urbanism in Central Europe and the Balkans. He pays attention mainly to the early medieval central locations in Moravia and Slovakia. In Bulgaria, he carries out large-scale geophysical surveys and archaeological excavations at the sites of Pliska and Veliki Preslav, where he investigates their development from the point of view of Proto-Bulgarian, Central and Eastern European as well as Byzantine influences.

Prof. dr. Frans Theuws
He specializes in Late Roman and early medieval archaeology. As part of the project, he is researching society in interaction with the landscape on the example of settlement on the banks of large European rivers, and the economy in the Carolingian period. He deals with material culture and theoretical reflections on medieval society. At the same time, he analyses the development of the post-Roman economy and the role that the rural population has played within.

Mgr. Petr Dresler, Ph.D.
He focuses on research into the Early Middle Ages in the context of settlements, fortification systems, economics and settlement development. He uses remote sensing, field survey and research, GIS, etc. His primary area of interest is the territory north of the confluence of the Morava and Dyje rivers, especially the Břeclav-Pohansko site.

doc. Mgr. Petr Hrubý, Ph.D.
He examines the transformations of the medieval landscape during the period of colonization, paying special attention to the influence of medieval mining and metallurgy of precious metals on the settlement structure of the landscape and the environment. The focus of his research is on the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, based on broad international cooperation.

Mgr. Petra Hájková, Ph.D.
She specializes in macroremains analysis of peatbog sediments, quantitative environmental reconstruction including climate, and multi-proxy studies combining multiple palaeoecological approaches. She deals with the influence of man and climate on peatbog vegetation and the detection of human presence in the landscape. As part of the project, she will participate in the analysis of sediments in the White Carpathians (human influence in prehistory), Bulgaria (connection to archaeological sites) and the detection of sedimentary DNA of livestock on the Carpathian ridges as evidence of prehistoric grazing.

Mgr. Igor Murín, PhD.
He specializes in the use of natural sciences combined with remote sensing. As part of the project, he focuses on the use of geophysical, geological and environmental sciences for a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to understanding the interactions between humans and landscape. At the same time, he deals with theoretical and practical applications of archaeogeophysics, remote sensing, their quantitative and qualitative evaluation and three-dimensional data processing.

Mgr. Věra Klontza, Ph.D.
She is a specialist in Eastern Mediterranean archaeology. She deals with the issue of long-term settlement and land use in the extreme conditions of the Aegean islands and the southwestern Balkans. She examines the diachronic equilibrium relationships of human society with the ecosystem, water management, the relationship of humans with plants and animals.

Mgr. Jana Mazáčková, Ph.D.
She focuses on landscape research and anthropogenic impact on the landscape, settlement structure and urbanism of settlements, evidence of economies and their resilience in the Middle Ages and Modern Times. To explore the landscape, she uses direct field survey, remote sensing, historical sources, and GIS. An example area is Rokštejn Castle and its demesne in the central part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

Mgr. Peter Tóth, PhD.
He specializes in prehistoric archaeology. As part of the project, he is researching the resilience of society in the Neolithic on the example of the Těšetice-Kyjovice site and its hinterland. He deals with the analysis of chronological and spatial relations and interactions of prehistoric settlement with the landscape. At the same time, he analyses food systems, waste management and relations between households.

Mgr. Lukáš Dolák, Ph.D.
He specializes in the reconstruction and analysis of past and present climate variability based on documentary sources in the territory of the Czech Republic. He also deals with the compilation of series of past and present hydrometeorological extremes and the evaluation of their impacts on nature and human society. Within the project, he studies climatic conditions and the occurrence and impacts of hydrometeorological phenomena on the territory of the Czech Republic, with an emphasis on the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

He deals with historical mining of mineral resources, especially ores, and their processing. Within the project, he addresses the issue of mining and smelting of mainly polymetallic silver ores, and the historical and recent impact of these activities on the landscape.

Mgr. Barbora Hutňan Chattová, Ph.D.
She specializes in ecology, diversity, morphology and taxonomy of diatoms. As part of the project, she focuses on palaeoecological analyses of diatoms in sediments.

RNDr. Eva Jamrichová, PhD.
She is devoted to palynology and palaeoecology and has long been involved in the identification of palaeoecological finds, human activities (e.g. settlement, grazing) and their reflection in pollen spectra in Central Europe (Western Carpathians, Pannonia). As part of the project, she analyses fossil pollen from archaeological contexts and from natural sediments in order to identify the anthropogenic impact on the landscape and vegetation from prehistoric times to the present.

He deals with the ecology of vegetation, especially species-rich forest-steppe meadows and oak forests. His finding that the knowledge of local natural conditions was not sufficient to understand the problems studied led him to explore remote areas and ancient history.

He specializes in sedimentological research of stratified sequences of sedimentary rocks in the area of archaeologically documented human settlements. He is engaged in geophysical prospecting in archaeology and specializes in the groundpenetrating radar method (GPR). He also deals with remote sensing, GIS and archaeology of the High Middle Ages. Within the project, he focuses on the application of geophysical methods in the investigation of archaeological sites both in the Czech Republic and abroad, and in the exploration of deserted medieval enclosed villages in Central Europe.

He examines the development and impact of landscape use and how this change influences society, which is also related to the issue of sustainable development of both past and present societies. Within the project, he focuses on the analysis of historical sources, especially those containing information on the landscape use in the past (maps, rent-rolls, hide registers, stable cadastre, etc.).

She specializes in prehistoric archaeology with a focus on the New Stone Age (Neolithic). As part of the project, she is researching the settlement structure of the first agricultural communities in Moravia. Mgr. Romana Kočárová
She specializes in xylotomical and anthracological analyses of samples from archaeological sites. The results of these analyses are then used to reconstruct the forest vegetation and its possible changes in the given period. Within the project, she deals with the analysis of archaeological sediments from Central European sites dating from the Neolithic to the Modern Times.
