He specializes in the study of art history with a focus on the dialogue between art history and politics, especially in Russia, the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia. He is also interested in the art of Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages in the Mediterranean. He is a professor at Masaryk University, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Helsinki, head of the Centre for Early Medieval Studies in Brno, editor-in-chief of the international journal Convivium (2014– ) and the Hans Belting Library. As an invited professor, he lectured at universities in Bologna, Fribourg, Helsinki, Lausanne, Naples, Padua, Poitiers, Prague and Venice.

Adrien Palladino, M.A., Ph.D.
Adrien Palladino is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Early Medieval Studies. In his work, he focuses on material and visual culture from Late Antiquity to the middle of the Middle Ages throughout Eurasia, as well as on the historiography of art history and humanities in a broader sense.

Mariana Bodnaruk, Doctor of Philosophy
She deals with the historiography of art history, especially with historical research into the art and culture of medieval Russian principalities in Ukraine from the beginning of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century. She primarily focuses on the art history of the Kievan Rus and the Principality and Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia.

Mgr. Vojtěch Nosek, Ph.D.
He specializes in 3D scanning, artefact analysis and digitization using optical methods. He is devoted to the use of modern technologies for the accurate recording and study of archaeological finds. He implements 3D scanning as a tool for detailed documentation of archaeological sites and artefacts. He focuses on the technical aspects of 3D scanning and digitization and their practical use in archaeology, combining traditional archaeological methods with modern technologies.

Mgr. Martin Košťál
He is devoted to imagination of the past using computational techniques for virtual reconstruction. As far as his historical focus is concerned, he deals with the High Middle Ages and addresses topics connecting virtual reality and the High Middle Ages. He seeks to create a view of the past based on scientific data and to take virtual reconstruction as another source of data that helps to understand the nature and form of past communities; he connects museology and archaeology.

RNDr. Petr Hofman
In the RES-HUM project, his main task as Expert Officer is to ensure open access to all published data. He graduated in Cartography and Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Science of Charles University. From 2007 to 2012 he was involved in the creation of the Digital Surface Model of the Czech Republic at the Czech Geodetic and Cadastral Office. Later he worked as a developer at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.
